We are pleased to announce Tim Jarvis AM as Regenerate Australia’s newly appointed Patron.
Tim is an environmental scientist and Australian of the Year for South Australia 2024. He is the founder of the Forktree Project, a bush restoration project on the Fleurieu Peninsula. As a polar explorer he is most famous for recreating the historic Antarctic explorations of Sir Douglas Mawson and Sir Ernest Shackleton to advocate for climate action and polar protection.
As Patron, Tim will use his experience and public profile to champion our environmental and social purpose, encouraging the ecological restoration of Australian bushland.

Joe Heffernan, CEO of Regenerate Australia, said: “Tim brings a rare, valuable combination of scientific expertise, hands-on ecological knowledge, and his respected public voice. He has also always championed strong long-term partnerships, and we look forward to continuing to work together.”
Tim Jarvis AM, Patron of Regenerate Australia, commented: “I am extremely honoured to become Regenerate Australia’s Patron. Australia is home to extraordinary ecosystems. Many are under growing pressure, making it vital that we restore the critical gaps. That is what makes Regenerate Australia’s mission so important. I look forward to encouraging more people and organisations to play a role in caring for the landscapes on which we all depend.”
Tim’s appointment builds on an existing relationship between Regenerate Australia and The Forktree Project. The partners are currently working with the Ngarrindjeri community to restore their Country at Raukkan in South Australia’s Coorong region.
